Mod Drop Box

If you have any questions, please ask them here. I'll respond as soon as I can. :)

(I have my LJ set up not to receive notifications from posts I make in communities, but I do have this post tracked and I'll check it at least once a day. Questions left on other posts may not be received in a timely manner. You're also welcome to PM me, or leave an ask on my tumblr. By the weekend I'll have a Kadam BB Tumblr set up, as well as a mod e-mail.)

This is also the post to comment to if you need an AO3 invite, or have invite codes you're willing to share.

Checkpoints
What format will you be using for checkpoints? Particularly the one where 7500 words are due? I'm assuming this means sharing with the participants as a whole . . . do we do that via AO3 or google groups or something else?

Re: Checkpoints
Drafts will be emailed to the mod email (which I have to create), either as a .doc or .txt, or shared with the mod gmail account as a Google doc.

The first two check points will be more informal, and just require a comment to a checkpoint post I'll make at the time. I'm not sure what it will include, maybe a preliminary word count, and the opportunity to share snippets and the like (though the brainstorming post can also double as a place for snippets and feedback.)

I don't have an AO3 account, so I'd like an invite, if anyone has one to spare, please.

Flash-Athon Question
What if we write a drabble/one-shot for the flash-athon, and it ends up fitting really well as a scene in our Big Bang story? (I wouldn't know for sure yet, but realized that it is possible that could happen).

That would be just fine! :)

Re: AO3
I'm waiting on a few more invites, but I'll PM you or comment here once I have one! It shouldn't be too long.

Artist Claims
I want to sign up as an artist, but I don't know if I'll have internet during the artist claims. How long will they be open?

Re: Artist Claims
Claims will be open for at least a couple of days. I will have a preview post (with the story summaries) up for a couple of days beforehand, and you can have someone do a proxy claim for you. There will likely be a second claims round as well, if all stories get claimed the first time and artists would like a 2nd story, or missed the first round of claims.

So, I'm going to give this a shot, but I'm planning on actually signing up last minute so that I know for certain if I'll finish it in time.
It's AU. And Kurt and Adam just met up, about 10K into the story. Is that okay, or should I cut most of the stuff before they meet and bring it in with flashbacks and dialog?

(By the way, don't be surprised if I end up with about ten times the required wordcount. I do NaNoWriMo. Last year I won and only actually wrote on about six or seven days of the month... there isn't a maximum word count, is there?)

That's fine! Just make sure to sign up before the author sign-ups end on June 1st.

There is no max word count, and your AU sounds just fine! :)

What happens if we finish more than one story that is long enough for the Big Bang within said time period? Can we enter more than one story?
sparkysparky
Apr. 10th, 2013 01:41 am (UTC)
Yes, you can write more than one story as long as they both meet the requirements.

Do we simply write any Kurt/Adam fic? There are no prompts or something we have to use?
sparkysparky
Apr. 17th, 2013 09:58 pm (UTC)
Correct! There are no prompts to pick from, you simply write what you want.

However, if you want some inspiration, the Flash Fic Prompt post might help, and I will be opening up a Kadam tumblr where people can submit prompts. There will be a link on the comm this weekend.

Re: Finding Beta's
There is a beta post, but I don't think anyone has signed up yet. You can post there asking if someone would be willing to beta (there is a form to fill out). I will also be putting a beta volunteer post on tumblr this weekend, so hopefully we cna get some interest that way.

And your own LJ/tumblr dash is a great way too.

I don't see any authors signed up in the sign up page. Is no one participating? I've been concerned I wouldn't write enough . . .

the comments on the sign-up posts are screened, to protect email addresses.

There are approx 15 authors signed up as of now!! :)

Just wondering if there's a new schedule for the stories/art to be posted? Thank you.
